Today’s topic: The Hindu editorial, “Forging consensus: On India and the SCO meeting”.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation is easy to caricature. It is a sprawling Eurasian grouping whose members disagree about a great deal, whose summits conclude in long declarations of intent, and whose two most powerful members are not India's most comfortable partners. Yet India sought full membership deliberately and has stayed engaged since. That choice deserves a fair hearing at each summit rather than a reflexive verdict delivered on the strength of a group photograph.
