The two should be removed from India’s premier investigation agency and fresh faces brought in. At the same time, the charges each of the two senior officers has raised should be investigated thoroughly. Going by the mud that has been flying in both directions, it is not just the CBI whose personnel are involved in shady deals. The dramatis personae who find mention in the charges enumerated hail from the Enforcement Directorate and the Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW), apart from the CBI itself. The Central Vigilance Commission and the political leadership should ensure a thorough inquiry into every charge.
