1. Shri Rajnath Singh reaches 12th Battalion, ITBP Matli, Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand on a 2-day visit

This is the first ever visit by the Union Home Minister to the Nelong Valley. Earlier this year in September-October, Shri Rajnath Singh had visited Mana, Lapthal and Rimkhim BOPs besides various other formations of ITBP- Mountaineering & Skiing Institute at Auli near Joshimath and Gauchar and had celebrated Dusehera with ITBP jawans.

On the eve of New Year, the Union Home Minister reached the 12th Battalion of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) based in Matli, Uttarkashi today. Shri Rajnath Singh met the families of jawans residing in the family quarters of the Unit premises and greeted them. He will also join the ‘Bara Khana’ with the jawans later this evening.

2. 37.5 LAKH HOUSES SANCTIONED UNDER PMAY- (U) WITH AN INVESTMENT OF RS. 2.03 LAKH CRORE JOINTLY FROM CENTRE & STATES/UTS---17.32 LAKH HOUSES GROUNDED & 4.68 LAKH HOUSES COMPLETED SINCE LAUNCH OF MISSION--RS. 12,916 CROE RELEASED TO STATES/UTS

PMAY /Housing for All/(HFA)-Urban is a Mission to provide HFA by 2022 and is being implemented from 2015. It provides central assistance to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and other implementing agencies through States/UTs for in-situ Rehabilitation of existing slum dwellers using land as a resource through private participation; Credit Linked Subsidy; Affordable Housing in Partnership and Subsidy for beneficiary-led individual house construction/enhancement.

Under the PMAY(U), the total investment from the Centre and States/UTs is approved for Rs 2,03,440 crores. Out of the approved total central assistance of Rs 57,669 crore, Rs 12,916 crores (approx.) have already been released to States/UTs. Interest subsidy of Rs 1,646 crore on housing loans has been credited directly to 81,597 beneficiaries under CLSS(Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme).

So far, 37.5 lakh houses have been approved for funding under the Mission. A number of 17.32 lakh houses have been grounded of which construction of 4.68 lakh houses have been completed since launch of the Mission.

3. Vice President wishes all citizens on the advent of Year 2018

The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to all citizens of the country on the advent of Year 2018. In a message, he said that let us collectively resolve to dedicate ourselves towards building a peaceful, prosperous and harmonious society on the beginning of Year 2018.

4. President’s Greetings on the Eve of New Year
