1 Nari Shakti setting milestones, says PM Modi in today's Mann Ki Baat

Mr Modi said woman power is playing a pioneering role and establishing milestones and there are no upper limits for Nari Shakti.

Remembering astronaut Kalpana Chawla, he said its a matter of sorrow for all of us that we lost Kalpana Chawla at the early age, but her life, her work is a message to young women across the world.

Highlighting the woman power, Prime minister said Matunga station in Mumbai is the first station in the country which is run by all woman staff . He also touched upon the daredevil stunts performed by the BSF biker contingent comprising women participants on Republic Day parade. Mr Modi said adivasi women, of Maoist infested Dantewada in Chattisgarh, are becoming self reliant by driving e-rickshaws

Saying relentless efforts towards self improvement and self correction is a salient feature of our society, Mr Modi lauded the effort of the Bihar government for forming world's longest human chain spanning over thirteen thousand kilometres to uproot social ills in the state. He appealed to the countrymen to pledge together to wipe out evil customs from our social fabric.

2.‘Bharat Parv’ Event Generates Patriotic Mood And Promotes Rich Cultural Diversity of India

Today, The Army, Air Force and Navy presented Static Band and Army also displayed Dynamic Band. The classical singing programme was performed by the artists from Chandigarh. Garba Raas was presented by the artists from Gujarat; Parinay Sutra was performed by the artists from Bihar; Badhai was presented by the artists from Madhya Pradesh; and Sehariyas, Gair and Chakri were performed by the artists of Rajasthan. At last, the artists of North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) presented a Choreographed performance on Pan India Basis.

The Ministry of Tourism has been designated as the nodal Ministry for the event, the highlights of which include Display of Republic Day Parade Tableaux, Performances by the Armed Forces Bands (Static as well as dynamic), a Multi-Cuisine Food Court, Crafts Mela, Cultural Performances from different regions of the country and Photo Exhibition by the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP).

3.Government holds All Party Leaders Meet ahead of Budget Session 2018 of Parliament, beginning tomorrow

Addressing floor leaders of parties in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha here today, ahead of the Budget Session 2018 of Parliament beginning tomorrow, Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi said that Government gives huge importance to the issues raised by all Political Parties and exhorted all Political Parties to collectively strive ,to create a constructive atmosphere in Budget Session to achieve National Good.

A host of issues were brought up by the leaders of parties during the meeting. There was a consensus across party lines on ensuring smooth functioning of the Parliament without disruptions and deadlocks to be resolved through constructive discussions in both the Houses.

Shri Ananthkumar further informed that the Budget Session 2018 of Parliament is scheduled to be held from Monday, 29th January, 2018, and subject to exigencies of Government Business, the Session may conclude on Friday, 6th April, 2018. During this period, both Houses of Parliament will be adjourned for recess on Friday, 9th February, 2018 to reassemble on Monday, 5th March, 2018 to enable the Standing Committees to examine the Demands of Grants of various Ministries/ Departments and make their reports thereon.

The Minister said that the Session will provide a total of 31 sittings (8 sittings in First part and 23 sitiings in the Second part) spread over a period of 68 days.

Further, the Minister added that the Economic Survey of India will be presented to Parliament on Monday, 29th January, 2018 and the Union Budget for 2018-19 will be presented to Lok Sabha on Thursday, 1st February, 2018.
