Source: The Times of India · 11 Aug 2019Addressing the nation after the nullification of Article 370, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to the people of Kashmir and once again reassured them that J&K would regain its statehood after the situation there normalises. He also said that the new Union territory of J&K would soon have elections to its legislature and security restrictions imposed in the region would be eased for upcoming Eid celebrations. This is welcome as the people of J&K certainly needed a message of reassurance from the PM.
