A 'supermoon eclipse' was visible across several continents, including the US, South America, Europe, Africa, and parts of Asia on Tuesday night. The partial lunar eclipse showed a shadow over the moon for more than an hour.

The event started with a full moonrise. The full 'harvest moon' entered Earth's shadow in space. This process gradually dimmed the moon over a span of 91 minutes.
