Crashing of the Ethiopian Airlines and Lion Air B737 MAX planes in the space of six months has forced aviation regulators in other countries to undertake similar measures. The precautionary measure largely impacts low-cost carrier SpiceJet which has in its fleet 12-13 B737 MAX aircraft – billed as some of the most sophisticated. The needle of suspicion is pointing to misalliance between pilots and the automatic system that prevents the aircraft from stalling called MCAS. All eyes are now on Boeing to roll out the necessary software fix.
