1. PM to visit Varanasi, launch several development projectsThe Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation, the Deendayal Hastkala Sankul – a trade facilitation centre for handicrafts – at Bada Lalpur. He will briefly visit the facilities at the Sankul. Shri Narendra Modi will flag off the Mahamana Express through a video link. This train will connect Varanasi with Surat and Vadodara in Gujarat.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate banking services of the Utkarsh Bank, which specializes in micro-finance.
2. PM attends Sahkar Sammelan on the occasion of birth centenary of Laxmanrao Inamdar
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today attended a Sahkar Sammelan in New Delhi, on the occasion of the birth centenary celebrations of Shri Laxmanrao Inamdar.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the first principle of the cooperative movement is to unite everyone, even while remaining anonymous. He said that Shri Inamdar ( also known as Vakeel Sahab) had imbibed this principle, and his life is a source of inspiration.
The Prime Minister spoke of the goals such doubling farmers’ income by 2022, and balanced development in rural and urban areas. He said the cooperative movement can play a key role in the achievement of these objectives.
The Prime Minister released two books: one on Shri Laxmanrao Inamdar, and one titled “Nine Gems of Indian Cooperative Movement.” He also gave away awards for cooperative excellence, on the occasion.
3. Canadian delegation discusses uranium and nuclear energy collaboration with Dr Jitendra Singh
Reiterating India’s commitment for use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes, Dr Jitendra Singh referred to the extension of the atomic energy applications to diverse areas in recent years. He said, not only is the nuclear energy emerging as one of the most important and clean sources to meet the rising energy needs of India, but is now also being utilized for other socially relevant purposes like, for example irradiation of agricultural and food products, etc.
4. “Hunar Haat” to be organised in Puducherry from 24th to 30th September 2017 by Ministry of Minority Affairs
Shri Naqvi said that “Hunar Haat”, organised by Minority Affairs Ministry earlier at different places, have been very successful and encouraging for master artisans belonging to the poor sections of the Minorities.

Twitter Ads info and privacy VASTRA 2017 is an all-encompassing trade fair and conference on Textiles and Apparel presenting a fusion of the finest and the latest in textiles products. The event is jointly organized by Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investments Corporation Limited (RIICO) and Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is supported by the Government of Rajasthan. More than 50 countries and 13 Indian States are participating in VASTRA 2017.
6. M/o Railways Commission 2 nd Vistadome Coach Funded by M/o Tourism
The Vistadome Coach boasts of a glass roof which has electrically controlled opalescence, that is, it can be made transparent or opaque at the turn of a switch. Passengers wanting a better view can head for a special observation deck.
The first Vistadome Coach was commissioned by the Ministry of Railways on the Vishakhapatnam – Araku Valley Route in April, 2017 and is attracting a large number of tourists.
