Parents' worst nightmare

They want the kids who are no longer kids gone from their home.
If you are 25 years or older and live with your parents in their home, you need to know something ¬ at least 50% of you have parents who want you gone. This data is based on my journalistic intuition, which in turn is based on the pained expressions of parents who have worked hard to give their kids iPhones yet continue to receive nothing in return.
Now, of this 50% about 60% have parents who can't say a damn thing. See, as far as Indian children are concerned parents are the gifts that keep on giving and the irony is that Indian parents are the very people who have trained their kids to think this way because ¬ you guessed it ¬ many of them still live with their own parents. The hardest part of parenting, and the reason i abstained from the endeavour, is that you are forced to lead by example.
Moving on. Of the remaining 40% of the aforementioned 50% half of you are women (unless you are in Haryana, Maharashtra or Rajasthan) and 99% of you ladies will catch a break because no matter how much your parents think of you as the life-force suckers you are they will clench their teeth and hope that you get married off sooner than later. In 2017 India is still a patriarchal hellhole where young, single women, even in Big City Bombay , have a hard time finding rentals and fortunately for you your parents know this.
If you are a boy on the other hand your parents will feel marginally less obliged. Your only hope is that your dad is a five star idiot forcing your mum to transfer all her love, hopes and dreams to you thus assuring a roof over your head. Given what most women really think of their husbands i can confidently say that 95% of you boys are in the clear.
So, we are now left with exactly 321women and roughly 978 men in the whole country who have parents like mine. Parents who had no problem sitting me down at 25 and telling me i had to go, that they wished to move on, and that above all else a fully formed adult who still sleeps in the same room she was toilet trained in just isn't attractive.
