1. The first International Day of Epidemic Preparedness was celebrated by the United Nations on December 27, 2020. The day is being celebrated to facilitate exchange of information, transmission of scientific knowledge and exchange best practices regionally, locally, and internationally.

2. The Federal Aviation Administration if the United States has recently issued new guidelines that eases restrictions on the use of drones. This is likely to expand the commercial uses of the technology in the country.

3. On December 28, 2020, PM Modi launched the National common Mobility Card. The National Common Mobility Card will allow passengers with RuPay debit card to be swiped for Metro level.

4. The Serum Institute of India recently unveiled the first indigenously developed Pneumococcal Vaccine called Pneumosil. The vaccine was launched by the Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan.

5. The Assam Government recently tabled a bill that will abolish all the state-run Madrassas and will convert them into schools from April 1, 2021. The bill is called Assam Repealing Bill, 2020.

6. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to inaugurate Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor Section. The section will open new opportunities for local industries such as textile production, glassware industry, block printing, pottery products, hing production, locks and hardware.

7. The International Cricket Council recently announced the Men’s T20I (Twenty 20 International), ODI (One Day International) and Test Teams of the decade. The teams were announced based on the consistency of the players over the period of last ten years.

8. The Chief Minister Secretariat of Bihar, National Informatics Centre and the Disaster Management Department have been jointly chosen as winners in “Pandemic Category” in Digital India Awards, 2020.

Earlier the Uttar Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Department won the Digital India Award, 2020 under the “Excellence in Digital Governance” category.

9. Pneumosil: First Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine of India.

On December 28, 2020, the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan launched the first Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine of India called Pneumosil. The vaccine was developed by Serum Institute of India.

10. 100th Kisan Rail of India.

On December 28, 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the hundredth Kisan Rail of India. The train carried vegetables and fruits from Sangola in Maharashtra to Shalimar in West Bengal.
