About CHRON: The root “CHRON” generally used as a prefix in English words, derived from Greek word “KHRONOS”, which means “Time”. The general meaning of the words derived from this root revolves around “Time”. Various other roots are also used to make “Heterogeneous” English words. Some are exemplified below. Words: Anachronism (noun) - A thing belonging or appropriate to a period other than that in which it exists, especially a thing that is conspicuously old-fashioned. Chronic (adjective) - Lasting for a long time. Chronicle (noun) - A record of events in order of time. Chronicler (noun) - A historian; as, a chronicler of events. Chronology (noun) - The science of recording events by period and by date. Chronological (adjective) - Arranging events in time order. Synchronize (verb) - Happening at the same time. Chronologist (noun) - An expert in the science of chronology. Chronologize (verb) - To give to time its period and to an event its date. Chronologer (noun) - Another name for a chronologist. Chronobarometer (noun) - A clock having a mercurial barometer for its pendulum, and used to show by its gain or loss the mean height of the barometer. Chronocyclegraph (noun) - A device used in micromotion studies to record a complete work cycle by taking still pictures with long exposures, the motion paths being traced by small electric lamps fastened to the worker's hands or fingers. Chronograph (noun) - An instrument for recording time with great accuracy.
