He springs a surprise, explains persuasively why Pakistan doesn’t really want Kashmir.

The emperor has no clothes. What does it take to say that? In the case of mercurial cricketer Shahid Afridi, it was interacting with students at the British parliament that saw him turn controversially candid. It could have been the distance from home or the air of a healthy democracy, but he declared that Pakistan doesn’t want Kashmir – it can’t even manage its four provinces. Indian home minister Rajnath Singh kept himself from jumping with delight and instead responded poker faced, Afridi is right. But of course back in Pakistan the cry went up Afridi is wrong, wrong, wrong.
