A day after shooting at Trump's rally in Pennsylvania, Republican National Convention began on Monday amid tight security. The topic has drawn immense public interest on Google Trends after foiled assassination attempt on the former US president that left the suspect dead and one attendee injured.

Trump is set to formally accept the nomination and deliver his acceptance speech at the Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee on July 18.

The day before, he plans to announce his vice-presidential candidate.

Over 2,400 elected delegates from across the nation will convene to formally declare their support for Trump through their votes.

Donald Trump would be nominated ‘to serve as the 47th President of the United States,’ a joint statement said.

The case continues to draw significant attention, as reflected in the latest spikes on Google Trends, indicating widespread public curiosity and concern after conspiracy theories regarding Trump's assassination attempt gained momentum.

Security forces from multiple states have been mobilized to address the increased security requirements of the convention.

Working together, we are helping to provide a safe and secure environment for all participants at the Republican National Convention,’ governor Gavin Newsom said.

The Secret Service informed reporters that they do not expect any changes to their operational security plans for the event following the assassination attempt. Audrey Gibson-Cicchino, the Secret Service's RNC coordinator, mentioned that security preparations have been ongoing for 18 months and have designated the event as the highest level of security.
