1. Rashtriya Kisan Diwas: Every year, the Rashtriya Kisan Diwas is observed on December 23. The Rashtriya Kisan Diwas is also called the Farmer’s Day. In India, it is celebrated in December 23 to honour the fifth Prime Minister of India, Choudhary Charan Singh. December 23 is the birthday of Choudhary Singh.

The Government of India decided to celebrate the birthday of Choudhary Charan singh as Farmers Day in 2001.

2. Status of Leopard in India 2018 Report: The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change recently released the “Status of Leopard in India, 2018” report.

India has 12,852 leopards as compared to 7,910 leopards in 2014. The leopard population has increased by 60% in the country.

3. Bengal Basin-India’s Eighth Functional Basin The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation recently began oil production from Ashokenagar-1 well located in the Bengal Basin. With this Bengal Basin becomes the eighth oil producing basin in India.
