1. On August 21, 2020, the National Highway Authority of India launched the mobile application called “Harit Path”. The application has started creating user IDs for experts. So far 7,800 plants have been geo-tagged using the application.2. The MEA and the Foreign Ministry of Thailand jointly organised the 6th Round Table of ASEAN-India Network of Think Tank, which ended on August 21. The theme of this virtual event was ‘ASEAN-India: Strengthening Partnership in the Post COVID Era’.

Necessary provisions in codes and rules will be ensured by the labour ministry to give statutory power to the labour bureau so that it can become a one-point of information for all labour related data. Labour bureau was established in 1941 as the Directorate of Cost of Living to compile cost of living index for important centres on a uniform basis.
7. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on August 20 said that the second lunar mission of India Chandrayaan-2 has completed one year around the Moon in the lunar orbit. According to ISRO, all the instruments of Chandrayaan-2 are performing well at present.
8. Madhya Pradesh will be offering jobs based on the marks secured by candidates in the common eligibility test (CET) by National Recruitment Agency (NRA). With this, Madhya Pradesh has become the first state in the country to offer jobs on the basis newly approved CET.
9. India and Israel signed a new cultural agreement to strengthen people-to-people exchanges. This agreement was signed by India’s Ambassador to Israel, Sanjeev Singla and Israel’s Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi.
10. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched the National Strategy for Financial Education (NSFE) to be implemented for the period of next five years i.e. 2020 to 2025. This is the second national strategy; the first NSFE was launched in 2013. NSFE 2020-25 has been launched with an aim of achieving a financially aware and empowered India.
