Changing perception of u p is our biggest achievement says cm

On completion of the first year of his second term, Yogi Adityanath highlights investment and infrastructure push initiated in the last 6 years.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has worked tirelessly to ensure that schemes of the Union and State governments are delivered to every Household, said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday.

Speaking at an event marking the first anniversary of his government’s second term, Mr. Adityanath highlighted the investment and infrastructure push initiated in the last six years. He added that the State touched new heights of development in this time.

“Citizens of Uttar Pradesh blessed the government, which is living up to their expectations with honesty in delivering the welfare schemes and also protecting people’s interests whenever necessary,” the CM told a press conference in Lucknow. He added that the process of connecting all the 75-district headquarters with four lanes has either been completed or fast-tracked.

“When our government came to power in 2017, only two airports were fully operational. Today, nine airports in Uttar Pradesh are fully operational. We are working to make 12 more airports functional in the State. Within the next two years, we will have five international airports. By next year, Jewar and Ayodhya international airports will be operational,” he announced.

He added that U.P. has the highest number of metro services in the country.

Double engine’

The CM also said that the perception of the State has changed since the BJP took office. “Previously, people looked at U.P. with suspicion. But now, their faces light up when they hear the name. I will consider it as the biggest achievement of the double-engine BJP government.”

Opposition hits out

Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party in the opposition criticised the government for allegedly failing to deliver on its promises.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav told reporters that the government has presented seven budgets so far and should give an account of all these years and not just one year. BSP president Mayawati said it would have been better if the tall claims of the dispensation had ground reality.
